Laurie travels solo to Fogo Island Inn to welcome Berry Season's full moon, as 2019 rings in the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing that put humans on the moon for the first time. Throughout the course of the weekend, Laurie will ponder life on the this rocky, dusty, luminous rock while Community Hosts offer guided night tours of the Island’s best vantage points for stargazing and moonlit explorations of Fogo Island’s rugged, otherworldly landscapes. The moon and nighttime sky will be the further focus of screenings, meditations, and presentations in the in-house Cinema as Laurie takes guests on a transportive experience at one of the four corners of the Earth.

On September 14, as a full harvest moon rises over Toronto, Pondercast will host a special event with Moon Merge. Pondercast host Laurie Brown and Juno-nominated electronic composer and musician Joshua Van Tassel will explore how city-dwellers merge with their natural surroundings during a live podcast recording that takes visitors on a virtual journey to the moon and back. The evening includes performances by Toronto-based musicians Choir! Choir! Choir!, Bernice and a special silent disco set by Halifax’s Rich Aucoin.
